Position: Middle/High Mathematics Teacher - 2026-2027 School Year (January or April Start)
We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Mathematics teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year, with a flexible start date of January or April 2026.The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching up to two or three sections of Years 7-12 students who are bilingual or native speakers of English. Teachers are typically assigned year levels most appropriate for their experience and skill set.
Years 7-10: Singaporean Mathematics Curriculum
Deliver the comprehensive Singaporean Math curriculum emphasizing problem-solving, mathematical reasoning, and conceptual understanding
Implement the concrete-pictorial-abstract (CPA) approach characteristic of Singapore Math methodology
Focus on developing mathematical thinking through structured problem-solving techniques
Years 11-12: WACE Mathematics Methods
Teach Mathematics Methods as part of the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) program
Prepare students for WACE external examinations
Cover advanced mathematical concepts including calculus, statistics, and mathematical modeling
General Responsibilities
Planning and implementing mathematics lessons targeting specific skills and concepts across both curriculum frameworks
Managing classroom behavior to keep all students engaged in mathematical learning
Providing individual support and feedback for students at varying levels of mathematical proficiency
Teaching PBL (Problem- and Project-Based Learning) style lessons
Differentiating instruction to meet the needs of students transitioning between curriculum systems
Collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth curriculum transitions from Years 10 to 11
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or related field
Teaching License
Minimum of 5 years' experience teaching mathematics at the middle school and/or high school level
Experience with or willingness to learn the Singaporean Mathematics and WACE Mathematics Methods curriculum
Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts and principles across multiple grade levels
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to create engaging lesson plans that promote student learning and understanding
Proficient in technology use for instruction purposes, including graphing calculators and mathematical software
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching in international schools or multicultural environments
Familiarity with both Asian and Australian mathematical education philosophies
Familiarity with Singapore Math textbooks and assessment methods
Background in preparing students for external examinations (WACE or similar)
Experience with mathematical modeling and real-world applications
Ability to teach mathematics in both metric and imperial systems
