The Aga Khan Academy Mombasa seeks to recruit a Teacher of Theatre and Drama who will be part of a vibrant community dedicated to nurturing young people’s talents and potential. Our mission is to develop well-educated, ethical, and pluralistic leaders of tomorrow, rooted in the local context and prepared for global challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and effective Theatre and Drama lessons in line with the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP) curricula.
Raise student achievement and foster a passion for the performing arts.
Monitor and support students’ academic and personal development.
Supervise and guide students through internal assessments and performance projects.
Contribute actively to the Academy’s co-curricular and enrichment programmes.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field, with a specialization in Theatre, Drama, or Performing Arts.
An internationally recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE) or a BEd/MEd.
At least three years of teaching experience in the IB MYP and DP frameworks.
A commitment to the holistic development of students, and a passion for the performing arts.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
